Matching Color at the Moment of Impact
Hue Blitz Arcade turns color recognition into a timing test. You control a particle launcher aimed at a ball that travels across the screen. The ball cycles through colors as it moves, and the particle you fire carries a single hue. Points are awarded only when the particle's color matches the ball's exact color at the instant of contact. Watching the ball's hue is not enough on its own; you also have to read its trajectory, because a shot that leaves at the right moment can still connect after the ball has shifted color.
Combos, Endless Runs, and the Cost of a Miss
Every correct match adds points. Consecutive hits raise a combo multiplier that increases the value of each following match, so a long streak is worth far more than a series of isolated hits. A single miss resets the multiplier to zero. There are no levels or stages—the run simply continues until you miss, which makes each session a short endurance test rather than a campaign. The score stays visible on screen, giving you a clear target to beat.
Why the Difficulty Keeps Climbing
The ball accelerates over time and shifts colors more rapidly, compressing the window in which a matching shot is possible. Early on, you have room to observe and line up a shot; later, the decision has to be almost immediate. That progression is the game's main difficulty curve, and it is driven entirely by the ball's speed and color-change rate rather than by added mechanics.
Controls and Cross-Platform Play
The interface is deliberately minimal: score, a restart button, and the play area. On desktop, you aim with the mouse and click to fire. On touch devices, tapping the screen fires the particle. The layout adjusts automatically across desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones, and the whole game runs in a web browser with no installation or download. Bright, distinct colors stand out against a neutral background, which keeps hue differences readable on small screens.
